Stage 4: Structure Configuration

"This is really part of the process once you've identified your needs, you understand the infrastructure now and the organizations you want to partner with.  This is really where the rubber hits the road - where you're creating the model of care including specific clinic policies and procedures.

It's very important to be very clear in delineating the roles and responsibilities of participating organizations. We've found that this is best done with a written protocol which can also serve for a manual of clinic operations. And, although we've found there are general templates and guidelines for protocols, each telehealth clinic that you're involved in should really have a separate protocol that's tailored to the environment, infrastructure and organizational configuration of that clinic. So, there is a balance between keeping the content for different clinics as uniform as possible, but also being able to adapt in these protocols to the realities on the ground."
